Profession Changing
I saw the Profession Changer at the Temple of Balthazar, and he said I am not close enough to the stars or something, so I was wondering what that means, and also, if I am somehow able to change my profession, does that mean I can change from W/R to a W/Mo? Thanks!

Yes.
In Factions, you must complete the fourth mission before you can change your secondary professions, for a fee of 500 gold for each new secondary learned for that character. In Prophecies, you must complete the 15th, 16th, 17th, and the 18th in order to ascend. Which in turn you may change your secondary profession. Ascending and Becoming Closer to the Stars are exactly the same in game mechanics. Yes. You may change your secondary profession to monk. Closer to the stars is basicly what the fourth mission in factions is. (I'm assuming that's what campaign you have.) Last edited by Retribution X; Feb 14, 2007 at 09:07 PM // 21:07.. |

Here's a tip - save your build to a template before switching professions. Then save the new build after you switch. Now you can switch back and forth without visiting the profession changer.

At the top of the skills dialog ("K") is a disk icon for saving and loading templates. There is also a pull down for selecting a new 2nd, once you've unlocked them.

I believe that being a W/Mo or a "Wammo" helps relieve the Monks of the party so they can focus more attention on other teammates instead of trying to keep a constant eye on the Warrior. I find being part Monk extremely useful for Dismissing Conditions on my Dervish.

Saving builds (although incredibly useful) in no way effects having to see a profession changer. once you have unlocked a second profession you can change it at any time in any town. Where it says Warrior/Ranger in your skills menu there is a drop list that allows you to change instantly, this will currently be greyed out for you. Once you have unlocked all secondary professions you will never need to visit the profession changer again. Those days are over

I sometimes go alone with henchmen group with W/MO and use Vigorous Spirit. It is a cheap cost enchantment I use to activate the bonus of my shield. I use mostly Adrenaline skills so energy is not much of an issue for my build.
